About Us
Keeping Memories Alive, One Story at a Time
At Stories of the Old, Written by the Young, we believe that every life holds a story worth telling. Our mission is to bridge the generational gap by encouraging young people to listen to, document, and share the life experiences of the elderly.
As our societies age, we often overlook the rich personal histories of those who have lived through decades of change. We want to change that. By empowering young people under 18 to engage with seniors over 65, we are not only preserving their stories but also fostering meaningful connections that benefit both generations.

Why this Matters
Singapore, like many other parts of the world, is witnessing a rapidly aging population. By 2030, almost one in four Singaporeans will be considered elderly. Studies show that seniors who engage with younger generations experience improved mental and physical health, a greater sense of purpose, and reduced feelings of isolation. Likewise, young people benefit from learning history firsthand, gaining wisdom, and building empathy.
This project is a two-way street – the elderly find fulfillment in sharing their journeys, while the young gain a deeper appreciation of life beyond their own experiences.
Our Vision
Not every individual has a Wikipedia page, but every life is a story worth telling. We want to create a space where the voices of ordinary people are documented, celebrated, and remembered by future generations.
Join us in this mission. Let’s preserve the past by sharing the stories of the old, written by the young.
